Administration

Dr. Alexis Jarman McKeel

I bring a strong background in both classroom instruction and school leadership. I began my career teaching 8th-grade math, Math 1, and 8th-grade English Language Arts before serving as an Assistant Principal in Beaufort County at Chocowinity Primary School and PS Jones Middle School and in Onslow County at Richlands Elementary School.

I am passionate about building strong partnerships with students, families, and staff. I believe that excellence is intentional and that there is always room to grow. I am excited to connect with the A.H. Bangert community and lead a school environment where every student feels supported and empowered to succeed.

Outside of school, I enjoy playing tennis and golf, cheering on ECU football, spending time with my husband, Will who works at BSH in New Bern, and our three dogs—Macy, Levi, and Merle—and volunteering at my church.

I am so excited to be a Bangert Bear!

My door is always open. Please call to schedule an appointment.
