Confidentiality

Confidentiality is the basis of an effective counseling relationship.  Counselors have a responsibility to protect the priviledged information received through confidential relationships with students, parents, and staff.  Such information is only to be revealed to others with the student's informed consent.  So to sum it up. . . "What is said in the Counseling Office, stays in the counseling office"- unless you or someone else is getting hurt.
